Registration is now open for the 2025 Tri-State Press Convention in Memphis June 26-28. The agenda will focus on a number of timely topics, including artificial intelligence, postal issues, and the impact of philanthropy on local journalism.
Events kick off Thursday evening, June 27, with a reception at the Hilton Memphis, this year's host hotel. Programming begins Friday morning with a sales and motivational program led by popular trainer Ryan Dohrn. Concurrent sessions will be held Friday afternoon and Saturday morning on A.I., digital sales, and the work of Press Forward state chapters in the tri-state region.
Walter Hussman, chairman of Little Rock-based WEHCO Media and retired longtime publisher of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, will be the keynote speaker for Friday's luncheon. Hussman, founder of the Center for Integrity in News Reporting, will talk about that project—which has awarded over $200,000 in the last two years to recognize objective news reporting in print, digital and television journalism—as well as the important of impartial journalism in today's political climate.
Friday evening is highlighted by a dinner party and entertainment, and events will culminate Saturday at noon with the presentation of the 2024 Mississippi Press Better Newspaper Media Editorial Awards.
Accommodations are available for $155 nightly at the Hilton. The group deadline for reservations is Friday, May 26.
