The annual Mid-Winter Conference returns to Jackson’s Hilton Hotel on County Line Road Jan. 30-31, 2015.
A number of sessions on industry and revenue topics are planned, including presentations on “Just the Basics” for new ad personnel and panel discussions on best practices for contract negotiations and competing with direct mail.
Tim Smith, a noted expert speaker on sales topics, will lead several sessions at the meeting, including one program on “How to Bundle and Sell Print in a Digital World.”
Jason Taylor, president and publisher of The Clarion-Ledger, will be the luncheon speaker Friday, Jan. 30.
Teresa Revlett, Director of Sales for Kentucky Press Services, will lead a three-hour session on Friday afternoon for sales reps who are new to newspapers. “Just the Basics” will focus on key terms, metrics and other nuts and bolts aspects of selling newspaper print and digital products.
There will also be a special demonstration of MPA’s new online contest entry system that will debut for the Better Newspaper Editorial Division in 2015.
The conference will culminate Saturday, Jan. 31, with the presentation of the 2014 Better Newspaper Contest Advertising Division Awards.
Early bird registration is $209 per member and is available through Jan. 9, 2015.
Regular registration is $219 per member and is available through Jan. 23, 2015.
After Jan. 23, attendees must register on-site and pay an additional $15 late fee.
