Join editors, publishers and team members from newspapers and media outlets across the Miss-Lou region for the second Joint Convention of the Louisiana and Mississippi Press Associations this June in the Big Easy.
The meeting will bring together editorial, advertising and other newspaper personnel for two days of training and fellowship in one of America's greatest cities. Events kick off Thursday, June 18, with a grand opening reception on the plaza at the Loews Hotel.
Among many other attractions, New Orleans is home to the magnificent National World War II Museum. Located in the city’s central business district, the museum is affiliated with he Smithsonian Institution and focuses on the Allied victory and the Normandy Invasion, in particular. Friday’s keynote presenter is Morley Piper, a retired newspaper professional who was a veteran of WWII and the Normandy invasion.
A number of discounted tickets will be available to members who wish to tour the museum during their time in the city.
Session speakers include newspaper publisher and advertising pro Peter Wagner, editorial expert Robert Buckman and non-verbal communication expert Jan Hargrave.
As in 2014, this year's joint convention will include the annual awards reception for the Louisiana-Mississippi Associated Press Media Editors (APME).
Regular registration is $195 per member.
Friday only (June 19) day rate is $150.
Saturday only (June 20) day rate is $100 and includes your state's awards luncheon.
After June 10, a $25 late fee will be applied per registrant.
