Be sure to wear your favorite team colors for the Saturday sessions during the Mid-Winter Conference. To tie-in to this year’s theme, “Tackling Tough Times,” fan football attire is more than appropriate for Saturday’s Silver Dollar Breakfast and Better Newspaper Contest Luncheon. Team sweatshirts are a great idea since we never know for sure what the weather will do – or how cool the hotel might be!
Football players, coaches, officials and cheerleaders also welcome. We’ll see you in Jackson next week.

A variety of sessions will focus on important revenue and advertising sales topics during the Mid-Winter Conference. Guest speakers Alan Jacobson, Joe Piergrossi and Gary Sosniecki will cover subjects such as display ad design techniques, developing Web revenue and boosting print sales in a tough economy.
The conference will kick off with key note speaker Blake Wilson, President and CEO of the Mississippi Economic Council, Friday morning at 9 am.
Saturday morning will also include the traditional Silver Dollar Breakfast. Participants are asked to bring some of their best revenue-generating and cost-saving ideas to discuss with their fellow MPA members. Additionally, program moderators Reece Terry of the Daily Corinthian and Pat Brown of The Magee Courier will foster discussions on key issues important to all newspaper members and how we are coping with the challenging economy.
As always, be sure to bring copies of your recent editions, promotional pieces and other items to share with your fellow members throughout the conference.
