The Delta Democrat Times, a daily newspaper in Greenville, Mississippi, is looking for a quality-obsessed, hands-on production manager who can also serve as head pressman for our small Urbanite crew. We are looking for someone who is technically oriented, cares about quality and can run the press. We have a new Screen CTP, computerized CC1 closed loop registration, automated plate bending, new slot locks and state-of-the-art prepress registration controls. We want someone who can make this fancy equipment hum and make this newspaper plant run like a commercial plant. Our ideal production manager should be able to implement a regular maintenance program and regular plate and press calibrations using densitometers.
The Qualified candidate must be able to work with people and manage and motivate the press crew. Urbanite and good computer skills a plus.
