McComb Enterprise-Journal Looking for Energetic reporter and page designer

Energetic reporter and page designer needed.

Can you conjugate a verb? Can you avoid the passive voice and not throw around apostrophes like Frisbees? If so, this 10,000 circulation southwestern Mississippi daily wants you.

This position also requires frequent page layout, including pinch-hitting for our sports editor at least once a week, and doing some periodic magazine layout. Quark experience is preferred, though applicants who have used InDesign will be considered.

Degree in Journalism or related field required. Newspaper experience preferred. Good benefit package (health/401K).
McComb is centrally located between Jackson, Natchez and Hattiesburg, Miss., and New Orleans and Baton Rouge, La.

We are looking for a conscientious person who works well with others in a fast-paced environment with an eye for design and creativity.  Experience in advertising layout, composition and design using Indesign and Photoshop a plus.

Graphic Designer will assist in production of daily paper, weekly shopper, website, special editions and other duties related to publication.

Must be a good typist with high school diploma or better. Experience on a computer is a necessity. Work schedule is Monday - Friday 8:00 to 5:00 and may periodically require Saturday work.

Sports Page Designer, Meridian Star, Meridian, MS

The Meridian Star, a 15,000/daily in East Mississippi, is looking
for the right candidate to fill in the third position in the sports
department. The ideal candidate will have sports knowledge, be able
to work on tight deadlines and layout the sports section up to five
nights a week. Ideal candidates will have excellent design skills,
good copy-editing skills and an awareness of deadline.  The Meridian
Star uses Quark to produce pages, so those skills are preferred. This
