Newspaper Circulation Manager, Daily News, Bogalusa, LA

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Are you looking for a new opportunity? Are you up to the challenge of a lifetime? If so, we may have what you are looking for in Southeast Louisiana. We are The Daily News, located in Bogalusa, La. and, despite our name, currently publishing three times weekly in the continuing aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Our 6,200-circulation newspaper (Wed-Fri PM, Sun AM) is looking for a self-starter to lead our circulation department, which, because of turnover and inexperience, is in disarray. We have good personnel and good carriers, but like every newspaper, we need a strong circulation system for our newspaper to enjoy good health. The successful candidate must be willing to roll up their sleeves and get dirty ∑ to throw down routes when necessary and to do whatever it takes to get the job done. This is a working position, not one for a supervisory type. In return for your knowledge and commitment, we will provide you with a competitive wage based on experience in addition to one of the best benefit plans in the industry. Our benefits include medical and dental, basic life (paid by company), 401k with company match, sick and vacation. We are part of Wick Communications, a family owned company with 38 newspapers in 13 states and the opportunity to grow as we grow. Your application will be treated with confidentiality and should be sent to: John H. Walker, john.walker@wickcommunications.com.
