A 5-day Mississippi daily is searching for an individual to lead our newsroom during these challenging times in our industry and state. We are looking for a creative individual with a strong sense of community journalism — someone who wants to tell the story of the people, places and things of the region around us. We are looking for the individual who has the ability to lead a staff of six with strong writing and editing skills. This is not a desk job, but a hands on position. The successful candidate will have not only strong writing skills but have an eye for design and the ability to pull it all together on the printed and web page. Your responsibilities will include directing news coverage as well as writing editorials - all of which result in a product our readers cannot wait to pick up each day.
We are not looking for someone who will be here today and gone tomorrow, we are looking for someone interested in putting their roots into our community, becoming part of it and helping lead it to a brighter future tomorrow.
