Staff Writer, Scott County Times, Forest, MS

The Scott County Times in Forest, Miss., is seeking a staff writer and paginator. Duties include managing submitted copy and ensuring it is published in a timely manner, generating six to eight stories per week including news, but also centering on weekly human-interest features, and building and composing inside pages for publication.

Good writing skills, an eye for design, an ability to write both news and human interest features, being deadline driven, an ability to take well-composed photographs, and some experience with pagination and layout software are ideal qualifications.

A background in printing, a college degree in design, journalism, English, arts or humanities are also acceptable qualifications. Position pays approximately $20,000 per year.
