The Delta Democrat Times in historic Greenville, Miss. is looking for an editor to lead a staff of seven.
A celebrated part of Greenville’s literary tradition, the Delta Democrat Times is a Pulitzer prize-winning newspaper that will always be committed to serving its readers.
The DDT is a six day daily with a circulation of approximately 8,500 and serves as a central printing site for several other Emmerich newspapers and commercial customers.
The challenges and opportunities in the Mississippi Delta require an Editor with exceptional managerial talents in a position that includes the daily duties of layout and design, story and photo assignments, and coaching reporters. Duties also associated with this position include writing frequent editorials and breaking news as needed, as well as production of several special editions each year and a quarterly magazine.
The ideal candidate will possess good skills in layout and design relevant to a small, community daily newspaper serving a diverse audience. He or she will be expected to become a participant in civic organizations and community activities. Based on experience and qualifications, compensation will range between $40—$50,000.
