Attention sports writers: Are you ready for your next challenge?
The Courier, a 12,000 circulation six-day daily newspaper in Russellville,
seeks a full-time assistant sports editor to cover athletics in the Arkansas
River Valley.
The Courier covers 10 area high schools spanning several classifications as
well as Arkansas Tech, a member of NCAA Division II.
The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter with a passion for local
sports. Qualifications include: A good work ethic, being familiar with a
Macintosh environment, Newsedit Pro and QuarkXpress are a plus. AP style
familiarity is also a plus. A Bachelor’s degree in journalism is preferred.
Must have good communication skills and possess the ability to work under
deadlines in a creative and fast-paced environment.
