BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
I was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, on March 27, 1949. I moved to Lexington, Mississippi, in 1963 where I lived until returning to Kosciusko in 1988.
I graduated from Lexington High School in 1967 and Holmes Junior College in 1970. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1972 and my Master of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Science with emphasis in Biology in 1977, both from Delta State University. I took Biology I and Biology II at Holmes Community in the summer of 2004 to renew my AA certification.
I am an ordained Baptist minister and a bivocational pastor. I am currently pastor of New Salem Baptist Church in northern Attala County, a position I have held since 1984.
I was married in 1988 to Carolyn Brantley Yeager, a former schoolmate. She has a son, Mark William Yeager, by a previous marriage (her first husband is deceased) and we adopted two more sons, Matthew and Christopher, on July 1, 1991. Mark is now 38, Matthew is 22, and Christopher is 20.
I have worked in the field of education for 10 years and in the newspaper business for 23 years, as well as serving as a Baptist pastor for the past 29 years. I feel that my education, training, and work experiences provide me with the proper skills to carry out the duties of a variety of jobs.
I am a photographer and have over 35 years experience. I used photography during all of the 23 years I spent working in the newspaper, as well as taking photos of weddings and other special events on a part-time basis and as a favor to friends and relatives.
