Purpose/Reason for the Position: Responsible for running, maintaining and cleaning the press, plate and reel room equipment.

 

Functions:  Print daily newspaper maintaining high quality and meeting all deadlines.  Inspect papers visually during run to correct ink distribution and color registration.  Retrieve paper with forklift and install in reel room on RTP’s at proper location in sufficient number.  Clean plate cylinders, blankets and install plates on cylinders.

 

Perform work in all ongoing maintenance programs.  Install and adjust blankets and rollers as needed.  Keep equipment and work areas clean.

 

Requirements:  High school degree or equivalent.  4 years or more experience operating a DGM 440 Computer controlled, 44 page with 28 pages of color, single wide press.  Ability to maintain press and understand the mechanics of the press and fix problems as they happen.  Ability to work flexible schedule.  Ability to be on call.  Ability to communicate and cooperate with other employees.  Operate forklift (with and without roll clamp).

 

Physical Requirements:  Ability to stand for long periods of time.  Ability to move from place to place within the building (up stairs, ladders, crawl ways).  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, 1900 lb. rolls of newsprint.  Ability to frequently climb, stoop, kneel and reach.  Some work done in close or confined spaces.  Ability to push/pull 900 - 1,900 lb. rolls of paper.

I was married in 1988 to Carolyn Brantley Yeager, a former schoolmate. She has a son, Mark William Yeager, by a previous marriage (her first husband is deceased) and we adopted two more sons, Matthew and Christopher, on July 1, 1991. Mark is now 38, Matthew is 22, and Christopher is 20.

Missippi daily newspaper is seeking an experienced, high-energy professional to lead its advertising sales staff. This position is responsible for the generation of all advertising revenue through the direction and daily leadership of the advertising sales department. The Advertising Sales Manager must bring a sense of excitement to the position, must have the ability to lead an experienced sales staff, and must be experienced in implementing new and successful sales strategies. Online advertising sales experience is a plus. The successful candidate will also be willing and able to make sales calls and handle a small account list. Simply put, he/she must lead by example!
