Inkblots, a blog from the Mississippi Press Association, offers headlines and perspective on the print journalism industry and changes afoot with Mississippi newspapers and publications nationwide.

Layne Bruce, chief contributor, is a career newspaper professional who has served as a reporter, editor and publisher. Before joining MPA, he was publisher of the DeSoto County Tribune in Olive Branch and editor and general manager of the Glasgow (KY) Daily Times.

He wrote a weekly newspaper column for 15 years before joining the staff of MPA and launching this blog. He was named executive director of the press association in March 2007.
