Hodding Carter IV, or Coach Hodding as he prefers to be known by swim students at the YMCA, has authored a new book on the “insane idea that I could swim my way through a midlife crisis and qualify for the Olympics.”

Carter, 45, is the grandson of the famed Delta Democrat Times editor, after whom he is, of course, named.
