Longtime Natchez sportswriter dies

Retired sportswriter Glenvall Estes, who chronicled high school and local events for over a half-century for the Natchez Democrat, died last week after a long bout with illness.

    Thank you for posting the news of my dad’s death. He was totally committed to high school and local sports for his entire life as well as to college and professional sports. His writing seems to have inspired several generations of athletes who never dreamed they could truly compete. The family appreciates all the kind thoughts that have been expressed since his death.
