Greenville Mayor Heather McTeer Hudson takes the Delta Democrat Times to the woodshed for a recent editorial that admonished her for writing a character letter in support of a murder suspect.

McTeer is seeking reelection and faces two opponents into today’s municipal elections. The winner faces a Republican challenger in December.

State Rep. Jamie Franks of Mooreville, the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, said Monday that his opponent, state Auditor Phil Bryant, was primarily responsible for the failure of the cull cow processing plant that cost the state $55 million when it closed.
