Pulitzer winner lectures at USM
Pulitzer prize winning photojournalist Clarence Williams was granted a Katrina Media Fellow from the Open Society Institute in June and decided to live in Hattiesburg. Williams is one of about 150 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; most of them, he said, live in the New Orleans area, but he has relatives near Petal. His aunt had a FEMA trailer in which he could live. Which is how the University of Southern Mississippi came to have a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist lecturing its students.
