David McRaney, executive editor of The Student Printz at the University of Southern Mississippi, has been named a winner of the Scripps Howard Foundation Top 10 journalism scholarship. McRaney, 29, a senior at the school of mass communication and journalism, received a $10,000 scholarship.
The Itawamba County Times is delivering a record 1,400 copies a week to area classrooms this school year through its successful Newspapers in Education program.
Writes Brookhaven Daily Leader publisher Bill Jacobs in a recent edition: “Remodeling work ont he front of the Daily Leader building last week uncovered a name from our past – The Leader-Advertiser. A photo of the work and the uncovered sign generated some inquiries from readers asking for an explanation.”
