Coast can relax: Nancy Grace on the case

Nancy Grace, the very loud, opinionated host of an eponymous show on the CNN Headline News network  (once — but now no longer — known for its no-nonsense, straightforward approach to news), showed up on the Gulf Coast and proclaimed she was ready to whip things into shape there.

Grace, using a week’s worth of vacation from her popular TV show to help south Mississippi rebuild from Hurricane Katrina, had just left a Harrison County home she was working to repair when she met with Jackson County’s four mayors and several community representatives.

“What can I do for you folks?” Grace asked the group at Tuesday’s meeting organized by Lance Davis, managing editor of The Mississippi Press.

City agrees to pay (more) money to city

Jackson City Council members Tuesday approved the payment of roughly $13,000 in legal fees to The Clarion-Ledger, stemming from a lawsuit over public records that began in May.
