Are you a publisher who has new-to-newspaper ad reps on your team? Are you a rep who may be new-to-the-game or may be searching to polish your skills on the basics? Join us for our first semi-annual workshop on "Selling Newspaper Advertising," Thursday, April 20, from 10 am to 3 pm at the Mississippi Press Association office in Jackson.
MPA-MPS Marketing Manager Julie Darling will lead this informative seminar that covers the basics of newspaper advertising, including tips on terminology, prospecting, closing techniques, customer service and more.
A native of Natchez and a longtime sales manager for newspapers in Mississippi and Alabama, Julie joined Mississippi Press Services in 2016. She oversees external marketing for MPS and its advertising programs, and assists with marketing for MPA and the MPA Education Foundation. Julie previously served as advertising director for The Cullman (Ala.) Times and retail advertising manager for The Natchez Democrat.
Cost of the workshop is only $20 and includes lunch. Registration deadline is April 14 and seating in this initial workshop is limited to eight (8) reps.
