MPA to roast Lt. Governor-Elect Reeves

The state's newspaper association will roast Mississippi's new lieutenant governor during a special education benefit this month in Jackson.

Lt. Gov. Tate Reeves will be the honoree during the 23rd Annual MPA Education Foundation Celebrity Roast Jan. 26 at the Jackson Hilton. Syndicated columnist Sid Salter, journalist-in-residence at Mississippi State University libraries, will again be the emcee. Confirmed roasters include former Lt. Gov. Amy Tuck, Sun Herald political editor Geoff Pender and Clarion-Ledger cartoonist Marshall Ramsey.

Annual Mid-Winter Conference Jan. 26-28

The MPA Mid-Winter Conference will Roll Out the Red Carpet when it returns to the Jackson Hilton Hotel early next year. The event, which includes the annual Silver Dollar Idea Breakfast and Better Newspaper Contest Awards Luncheon, is scheduled Jan. 26-28. Programming will focus on top-notch customer service and top-dollar revenue programs.
